I am a professional racquetball player, a passionate traveler, and a volunteer. I started this blog with the intention of sharing my experiences as I travel the world while I compete for my country Guatemala, promote the Olympic values, and begin my career in the field of counseling. I will be writing in English and Spanish, and also sharing tips about racquetball, training, and personal development.

A RQTBLR In Her Natural Habitat

After not playing racquetball for three months, I feel an immense sense of gratitude and joy for being able to play racquetball again. I thought about what makes me love this sport so much and came up with my top 8 reasons why.

Freedom Flight

Freedom Flight

Freedom Flight is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. It is the story of the encounter between an Olympic silver medalist and a prisoner of war who spent more than six years in a North Vietnam prison.  If you are feeling trapped, anxious, or bored in the current situation, I encourage you to take one hour of your time to read this book. You will learn that you have the power to be free in whatever situation you find yourself in.

The Start of Schreiner Racquetball Club

Yesterday we had the first racquetball clinic at Schreiner University. Students were invited to watch an exhibition match and learn how to play. It was a fun night! We are looking forward to getting the Racquetball Club officially started by the spring semester.

Tallahasse

Tallahassee Racquetball

Last Thursday I arrived in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Tim Baghurst is now working at Florida State University, so I got the chance to visit the university, train with him, give racquetball lessons, and play a shootout over the weekend.

Pan Am Games

Adrenaline… So much adrenaline. There is no other place like a competition where I can feel this amount of emotion, this much energy, this much desire. And that’s why I love playing racquetball and competing for my country. “Stay in the moment. You can do it. Just watch the ball and stay low. Hit that wide angle. Own the corner! Be ready, be like water, just be like water. Be here and now, this moment.”

Adrenalina… Tanta adrenalina.

MRR-Carrera

Dueling Lifestyles – Carrera Doble

This February, I changed my shorts, tennis shoes, and sweat of every morning for formal outfits, heels, and make up. I started a temporary job at Universidad del Istmo and continued my preparation for the PanAm Games of Lima 2019.
